SHOP TIPS AND TRICKSHOW CAN I BRING MY WREATH BACK TO LIFE? Many of you are repeat customers, and we're so thankful for that. If you joined us for last year's Patriotic Welcome Burlap (now available on our site) Wine & Wreaths event, you may be ready to bring it back out for the season. But how do you bring back a wreath that's been in storage for a year? Here are some tips: - Spray those burlap wreaths with starch and give them a fluff. Fluff the folds, and pull out the edges back to their full width. Let them dry. - Fluff those bows. Bows get flattened easily, but that doesn't mean they can't be beautiful again. Fluff the loops and give the tails a new trim. They'll be as good as new again. - Re-fluff the ribbon pieces. Sometimes they just need stretched back out and put back into place. - Tack those flowers back into place. If the don't stick in place quite as well, you don't need a glue gun to fix them. Super glue small pieces back where they belong. Just be careful not to glue yourself! MEMORIAL DAY SALEUse code USA2020 to save 20% off of our Red, White and Blue collection. SHOP TIPS & TRICKS
HOW CAN I MAKE A DERBY HAT?
In 2018, we helped these two ladies make their own Derby hats at one of our favorite spots, West Side Brewery. So, here's how we did it. Straw hats are available online in many outlets. We used some leftover flowers from various projects. If you're ordering, you don't need many--you can go one big one or 3-5 smaller ones. We made these without any glue guns. Using wire and pipe cleaners, we attached each flower--they don't have to coordinate! We also used some leftover mesh and tulle to make the large bow, and topped it off with a few feathers. The bigger the better. And, to keep a stiff brim, spray it with spray starch and set on a flat surface. |

We're a mother-daughter duo crafting because we love to. We're not out to become wreath-making millionaires (is that a thing?). We just want to share what we do with others.
Our story starts with us making wreaths for friends and family. Making all of the floral arrangements and bouquets for my wedding and my sister's. From there we started doing more. More wreaths. More arrangements.
In 2012, I was sitting home alone on a Sunday. My husband had been deployed to Afghanistan. My parents were hundreds of miles away. And I found myself on Etsy. Then, I had an idea. Why weren't we doing this? Why hadn't we thought of selling our pieces? And so, we did.
I called up my mom and said, "We need to be doing this. Our stuff is as good as this. Let's try it!"
I signed us up for a three-day festival as a vendor, and we crafted as much as we could working up to the big day. We started gobbling up all of the flowers we could...slowly transitioning my basement into a floral warehouse. The big debut day came. We set up our first tent. Our first display of what we'd been working on for months. And with the first day of the show also came tornado warnings and severe thunderstorms. We battened down the hatches as much as we could the first night and prayed all night long that our little booth and all of our goodies would survive. The next morning, we found our tent still in tact...less a few pieces. Our first show wasn't a huge success, but boy did we learn some things! Number one being, and I'm quoting my business partner (my mom) here, "No more outside shows."
Zoom forward 8 years and here we are. We ships our pieces across the country from coast to coast. We host in-home wreath-making parties. We now only participate in two large (indoor) shows. And our business is blooming. It's all thanks to all of you. And we couldn't be more grateful.
So, take a few minutes to read more about what we do, what we've learned, and how we're doing. Connect with us. Comment and share. Ask us questions. We're ready to share our nest with all of you.
